Great for a longer stay and spacious for 2 people. The staff were friendly, the facilities were super clean, and they give you an outfit to wear to the onsen! Or can be used as pajamas. A tote bag and flip flops are also available for the facility. The female onsen is locked behind a key pad door for privacy and the bath was nice and hot. There’s even an area of the bath for those that struggle with getting up or sitting down (bars are in the water). The lounge area is nice and large for multiple guests to hang out. And you get one free drink a night per person from the bar (alcohol or non-alcoholic). There’s also coffee and tea areas for you to enjoy at your leisure. The bathroom was nice and spacious compared to other places we stayed. And there was room to leave out our luggage. The hotel is right next to the metro line (literally right outside the front door). Only downside was the WiFi. The connection was really terrible throughout the day and night, where the phones had a hard time staying connected. Just as a heads up for anyone that may need to conduct business or wish to unwind at the end of a long day out and this would be important.

As an Irish traveller it was difficult to find a good breakfast in Japan. The breakfast in sakura at 1600 yen was very good and very similar to a breakfast at home if you wanted (sausage, scrambled eggs, bacon etc), it of course had more Japanese style food aswell which was also beautiful. At 1600 yen per person I could not fault it. The room was clean and had sound sleep each night. The public bath was well organised and was refreshing after a full day sightseeing. The complimentary drink each evening was also very appreciated (alcoholic or non). The staff were exceptional for a non Japanese speaker at any time of the day, there always seemed to be at least one staff member at reception with very good English even if the initial contact was not perfect (this is not a negative as it's my ignorance not knowing any Japanese but was highly appreciated). Was very close to kyoto station which would take you anywhere you wanted and was right beside Kujo station (literally seconds from front door) so as a comfortable Base it was perfect.

The location was just great for a short walk from the station. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The free drink each afternoon was greatly appreciated. The breakfast was plentiful and delicious. Free tea, coffee and iced tea was available 24/7. The room was adequate although small by western standards. There were no English speaking programs on the tv and no Netflix, which is fine as you don't generally spend all day in your room when on holiday. This did not detract from our stay there. There was a public bath in the hotel but I didn't use it. Very safe for females as you have to use a pin number to get in to use it. I would highly recommend this hotel. There are plenty of places to eat out at. The Aeon Mall is a few blocks away and has four floors of shops/eateries there, plus a very well stocked supermarket on the ground floor.

Next to Kujo underground station which connects with Kyoto Station which is great for travelling. Just one stop away. The staff where friendly, warm and helpful. The public baths excellent. Everything exceptionally clean. Kyoto Station is massive with lots of food and a high end department store. Sakura Terrace is one side of this and the Gion area the other side. Taxis are good value, no need to tip and will save you time and energy when visiting all the Shrines and Temples. It was very busy most places as tourism has increased. The buses and hop on bus are easy to use. I highly recommend and would like to thank everyone at Sakura Terrace for an excellent stay. The lobby was great for a free drink each night and the breakfast was excellent value for money.

Well, we got a cheap room, so I didn't expect it to be very spacious, It was as I expected and even a little better. Otherwise, I would like to say that the laundry service was free, and even so, there was almost always a washing machine available, detergent was also free, ice machine, etc. The public bathroom is very welcome after walking all day, and also we liked that one of the pools has cold water. We are not alcohol drinkers and we did not use the service, but I think that inviting us for a drink in the evening is also a service worth considering. It is close to the train and bus station, and therefore, close to a lot of transport options.
